Jean-Marc Brugeilles is a uniquely talented fellow artist from France, whom I met when we exhibited our works at the American Visionary Art Museum's "Yummm" Exhibit in Baltimore, Maryland from 2016 - 2017. And we've been friends ever since. His extraordinary art is whimsical and colorful, as he concocts his own colors. Come see his amazing works of art by using the link provided below.

THE OPPORTUNIST
My imagination will continue to consider other possibilities. The melting cheese brings up a heated subject. But, if you go back to some older entries on this blog, you will notice that I have freed other uncooked toppings or ingredients, exiting into our world. Pizza is not alone in this possible injustice.

AND THEN, THERE'S WEST SIDE STORY.....
"West Side Story" has been resuscitated lately. And as a result, much interest in Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican Community has been raised. The lovely tropical island is rich in its climate and beauty; as well as its easy access, only a few hours by plane. And its citizens are born U.S. citizens, since the early nineteen hundreds.
West Side Story takes place in the early fifties, New York City, as many Puerto Rican Americans chose to reestablish residency there, in hopes of finding riches, as many Europeans had done before them. But if you want to know more about growing up Puerto Rican in New York City from the forties to the eighties, you may want to read my book, "Marine Tigers: A NewyoRican Story" By Jose Bello. My story is about our assimilation into American life in the Big Apple. To access book information, use the link at upper left.

ART AFTER DARK - December 2021
Artsbridge in Parkersburg, WV generously featured my works in their "Art After Dark" event. Also sharing the event were other artists and live music. I exhibited many of my pareidolic works and made sure I had a copy of my book: "Marine Tigers: A NewyoRican Story" - which tells the story of how my family and I assimilated into America, having arrived in New York City in the late forties.
You can get a taste of the book in an excerpt I've placed in my "Short Stories" link Above Left on this page! You'll find other short stories there, as well. Some include my actual experiences, driving the five boroughs of NYC through the night, as a NYC cabby.

ON IN FIVE
We've been eating this brand of Moose Tracks for a couple of years now. And for a while now, I've noticed figure after figure trying to get my attention. And as anyone who knows me can tell you, I look for rescues like this; characters who want a way out of the illustration and into "our world".
I recognize this when I begin to visualize a character in a variety of poses, positioning or other indicators. I interpret this as a desire or even a longing to get out. It is then, that I get out my scissors and commence to clipping away the ties that bind my new friends from their existence, in order to join them to ours. Please welcome these sisters into our world.
