I'M ONLY A CAT!

I wonder why this weirdly varied food group is making a fuss over a cat? Could it be because he's of the same food group as one of them? I found him in the same group as the colorful guy reaching for him from the right. Geeze! It's good to know we're not like them.

READY FOR SCREENING

These guys are ready for screening...or attack!...eh, yeah, or maybe photos. I can't make up my mind.
Although it looks like I may have a mutiny on my hands; at least in a food fight of sorts.

NOTHING BUT FRIENDS

When I first saw this Supreme pizza I thought: "Wow. What a colorful array of toppings." This  certainly wasn't the first time I'd seen a Supreme pizza with all those tasty green, red and yellow peppers, black olives, pepperoni and sausage. They always make my mouth water. Then I began to look at it from a pareidolic perspective. That's when I spotted my first character. I began cutting from  right to left, as I discovered the round head and colorful shirt that led me to the next character, then another, and finally the last guy who appeared to be leaving. I managed to catch up with him just in time. His attention was somewhere else, but luckily his partner caught hold of him just in time for me to bring him into the composition with the others.

TO EACH HIS OWN

I hope you'll enjoy this one as well as all of the entries. Feel free to comment. These guys each seemed so unique, I thought it a good opportunity to show you how my characters and subjects come about. I want to stress to you an important aspect of my pareidolic art that I'm afraid may be getting lost on some viewers: The fact that I do Not mark, paint, draw or in any way alter the images I find within the illustrations on the packaging. I simply cut what I see.
If you look closely at the bowls above you can trace the cuts that brought the characters to life. I think if you do that, you'll get a better idea of what I do and how I do it. I encourage you to try it with your own food package illustration. I feel satisfaction in finding art that would otherwise be lost; and what a waste that would be. I find the challenge fun and gratifying.

GREEN TEA LEE

Here's a little lady that caught my eye as she sprouted into view from a box of green tea. Some evenings I like a nice hot cup of tea even when hot weather temperatures seem to call for a cool drink, she cooled me down from the tensions of the day.

CARP 'N' DIEM

Make of it what you wish. But, these two are great buddies and always have been; essentially fish and salad who regardless of size, mingle very nicely. Oh, and they deliver a great message. They are Carp 'N' Diem.

Inline Incline

Few things earn my time on line. I saw these Jello people waiting in line and thought: Better them than me. However, it's not a good idea to let children wander off. Families should stay together. But hey, that's just me.
In my book, Marine Tigers: A NewyoRican Story, I get into family life and family influences.

BEVERAGE INCLUDED

This guy's either delivering the goods or stealing them! Either way, he seems intent on taking his/her pizza body somewhere and including his/her partner along to the event; lunch, dinner, what?
I wonder if they're escaping being eaten. Is there such a thing? Could they be running away from their destiny in some surreal universe? I only know they're delicious and I, as so many of us, love to eat pizza and washing it down with 'soda' as I call it.

BEAUTY IN UNISON

HAPPY NEW YEAR - I thought I'd start the year off by bringing you this ambiguous beauty I call: Beauty In Unison. Healthy, strong and with an attractive appearance, dominant fragrance, a temptation to those with a taste for the appeal of this pungent vegetable.
I went looking for it in my Webster's Dictionary and it is described as an allium. I always think of garlic as this little powerfully flavored relative of the onion. And my dictionary agrees.
I found beauty in this portion of an illustration showing ingredients for the making of one of my favorite foods - Pizza. Enjoy.
